Introduction

When The Lanesborough set out to create a new temporary Garden Room, the ambition was to design a sophisticated hospitality environment that complemented the character and elegance of one of London’s most prestigious hotels.

Working closely with the client from the early stages, Solid Collective led the creative development, technical design, procurement and production management of a bespoke temporary pavilion designed to feel like a permanent extension of the hotel.

Although intended for a three-year lifespan, every element was carefully considered to meet the aesthetic and functional standards expected of a luxury five-star environment.

From Concept to Reality

Over a year of design development, technical planning and coordination went into bringing the Garden Room to life.

Our team developed the architectural design, material finishes and bespoke details, carefully balancing aesthetics with practical requirements.The pavilion incorporates discreet RAL-matched infrared heaters, remote-controlled blinds, bespoke glazing, removable glass windbreaks, maintenance-free decking and reeded glass screening.

Custom steel planters with integrated uplighting and downlighting complete the space, demonstrating how even the smallest details contribute to the overall guest experience.

Delivering in a Live Luxury Hotel

Working within an operational five-star hotel required meticulous planning, technical expertise and close coordination with specialist contractors.

From structural elements and architectural metalwork to glazing, lighting and bespoke finishes, every component had to be carefully developed, manufactured and installed while respecting the hotel’s operational requirements.

Solid Collective managed the technical development, supplier procurement, production coordination and installation, ensuring the original design intent was maintained throughout the process.

The completed Garden Room is an elegant, carefully considered hospitality space that combines the flexibility of temporary architecture with the quality and sophistication of a permanent structure.
